Ink Cap Mushroom

Akasha and I discovered this on our walk today. She asked me what it was and I had no idea, so she dubbed it "The Kowongus". I thought that was a good name for it. Later we learned it's an ink cap mushroom - its the first of its kind that I've ever seen.

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon photographing Viv, of Live with Viv and her assistant Marta, as they cooked up yummy fresh organic meals for their clients. If you live in the Twin Cities and enjoy eating healthy, you might want to consider having Viv and Marta cook some meals for you and have them delivered right to your door.

The U.S. Bureau of Mines, 3 Days Before Demolition

On November 1st, 2011, the demolition of the U.S. Bureau of Mines in Minneapolis will begin. The land will be transferred to the National Park Service and become a part of the Mississippi National River and Recreation area. Soon this urban decay will be grassland and open space.
